Rave: Ultraceuticals Even Skintone Serum

Saturday 14 January 2012

I had heard some amazing things about this serum in early 2011, but I wasn't really interested too much. But after having my daughter I found my skin tone had changed quite a lot. So I bought this in August and have been using it 3-5 times a week.

Even though it is $85 for 25mls, and the bottle looks small, it does last a long time. You only need 3 or so drops (from the dropper) as a little bit goes a long way. I have only used half the bottle in nearly 6 months.

Even though people say it is a miracle product, it does take a few weeks to really make a difference. But if you keep on using it regularly, you will notice smoother/softer/more even toned skin.

They recommend using it once every 2 days for a week then try it once a day to let your skin adapt to the serum. It can cause a little bit of sensitivity for the first week. Normally my skin is sensitive to serums but I had no problems with this one. It just felt tingly on my skin for a few minutes, but once I applied a moisturiser my skin felt fine. I normally use the serum, followed by their "Ultra A Soothing Complex" then I apply my moisturiser. Make sure you use a moisturiser after applying the serum, since it isn't a moisturising serum.

I prefer to use this at night, since it can make your skin sensitive to the sun. You don't want to get burnt and ruin all the effort you have gone to, to get an even tone. I find when I don't use it for a few days my skin starts to feel less soft and more "bumpy."

If you can't afford laser treatments for uneven skin tone, this is the next best thing. While it sounds expensive, it truly does last for ages.

Does anyone else use it?
