First Impressions: Pevonia "Renewing Glycocides Cream" Review

Sunday 6 October 2013

If you read my blog regularly, you'll know I'm a big fan of Pevonia products. They're beautiful products that give great results.

One thing that I love about Pevonia, is that they really found out about my skincare and skin concerns and have sent me products that suit me, not just what's their newest launch product. I was recently talking with them and they were making sure that the products I've been using are working for my skin. One of the products that they suggested would compliment my existing routine is their "Renewing Glycocides Cream."*

I was given a lot of information on how to incorporate it into my skincare routine and how often to use it based on my skins needs. We decided to use it every second night to begin with.

It's a powerful cream that does a lot, even though you only need a little.

If you're wanting to reduce lines, unclog pores, have brighter and smoother skin without using 1000 different products, then this little tub is all that you need.

It contains 2 of my favourite ingredients... hyaluronic acid (which I've talked about here) and glycolic acid (which I've explained here). Hyaluronic acid, while sounding scary, is really great for adding moisture into your skin. It's great for any skin type... even oily.

Glycolic acid is great for many different skin types. It exfoliates the skin, helps to give your skin a smooth surface, brightens skintone, unclogs pores and is a fantastic anti-aging ingredient.

While the tub looks small in size (it contains 50g), you don't need a lot of it to cover your face, so it will last quite a while. I use a little bit more and also apply it to my neck and chest. I have a bit of sun damage on my chest, so I'm hoping that this will help to plump the skin and make it look brand new.

Because of the ingredients, you may feel a tingle on your skin. I find where it tingles the most is where I have blemishes, especially if I've been naughty and have picked or popped at it. Any other parts of my skin don't react at all.

I will be using this only at night. I first do a double cleanse to get rid of make up, and then use a toner. I skip the serum and apply this, so all of the good ingredients go straight onto my skin and won't have to penetrate any extra skincare layer.

When using anything with AHA's, like Glycolic acid, make sure you protect your skin with sunscreen every day.

One of the great things about this, is that it comes with little plastic boomerang looking device that you use to remove the cream from the jar. I love this as I'm a bit of a germaphobe and hate dipping my fingers into tubs.

I can't wait to see the results after using this continuously. I'll be doing an updated review, and will also include pictures, so you can see the difference in skintone and texture over the next 1-2 months.

This retails for $118, and while it's on the pricier side, I love that it does so much. I'll be able to save on using serums to reduce my uneven skintone and blemish products while using this.

You can purchase this from the Pevonia website here.

Also check out the favourite products of the Pevonia staff here. I love Kanya's quote of "I imagine little pac man like characters eating away the dead skin cells to reveal healthy, radiant skin" when talking about her favourite product.

Do you use a specific night cream, or just use your morning cream?

  1. I also love Pevonia skincare and am using their Repair Line at the moment. You are so right - a little goes a long way! I think that it will take me six months to finish my moisturiser which is almost a record.
