These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things... January and February Favourites 2017

Sunday 12 March 2017

The last favourites post I did was my 2016 favourites post. At the end of January I still found that I was using a lot of products in that post and had just started testing new products, so I decided to hold off and combine my favourite products for January and February.

I've been lucky to have found some new amazing brands as well as finding some incredible products that are not only featured in my month favourites but have become holy grail items.

Skincare

At the end of January I started a new skincare routine. While I normally mix and match my skincare by using different brands, I started using the Hydroskin Starter Pack.* It contains a cleanser, toner, serum and moisturiser. They also sent me a salt scrub to use twice a week. I was mainly using only Hydroskin, the only exception was a cleansing oil to remove my make up and a face oil to use with my facial roller. Instantly I fell in love with the moisturiser and cleanser. Sadly I've finished both of those along with the face mist. It was love at first use with the moisturiser and I really miss using it. I have a review coming up soon as I have so much more to say about the brand, but I will tell you I NEED to get a full size version of the moisturiser. They also have a Manuka Honey Mask and Vitamin C serum that I have to try!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know about my love for my Dusk By Adele Jade Roller. While it has great skincare benefits, I find the mental benefit of taking time out to relax and pamper is just as important. I had wanted a rose quartz facial roller for a while and when I saw the Krystle Knight Jewellery Rose Quartz Face Massage Roller instock, I couldn't press Add To Cart quick enough! Not only does it look gorgeous, it feels so relaxing and lovely on your skin. They currently have it in stock here, so if you want one get it now!

I was sent some of the Bioderma Sebium* range recently and it's something that I normally wouldn't pick up in store as it's made for combination to oily skin. While I'm in my early 30s, I still do have issues with congestion and pimples. The Sebium range has a soft fresh fragrance, so beware your partner/brother/dad will probably sneakily use some!! I really love that the large Micellar Solution* bottles now come in a pump! It's so handy and easy to use! The cleanser in the range doesn't strip your skin like some cleansers can that are aimed for oily skin.

Make Up

I adore highlighters and it's something that I wear almost daily. I was sent the Youngblood Cosmetics Illuminate Highlighting Palette* by RY.com.au and I've worn it so much!! It contains 6 different cream shades that are all so creamy and easy to apply. I use the lightest shades on my cheeks and the darker ones I like to use on my lips. I've got swatches here if you're interesting in seeing how they look. I also love mixing two colours together to get a new and unusual colour.

I have a mix of the TBX Beauty brushes that I've been sent and also have purchased. I've had a lot of fun testing them out and have found that the concealer, fan and kabuki* brushes are my most reach for brushes. They're all soft and work incredibly! I love that they're magnetic and are also affordable! I still need to pick up the foundation, powder and eyebrow brush to complete my collection.

I've been having a love affair with TheBalm lately and their newest release, the Highlite 'N Con Tour palette,* is gorgeous. There are 2 shimmer highlights as well as 2 matte highlight shades. They do have 3 darker shades to bronze and contour with, but I find them too dark for my pale skin. There's also a gorgeous blush in the palette that's so pigmented. As you can see from my Instagram photo of my theBalm collection, I'm a HUGE fan of their products. I need to pick up the Balm Jovi, Meet Matt(e) Nude and How 'Bout Them Apples to finish my collection!

Body and Hair

I love to switch up my shower gel often but one scent that I wish I would never finish is The Body Shop Pinita Colada Shower Gel. I bought a few bottles in the Boxing Day sale and I only have one bottle left!! It's such a great scent to use in the morning when I'd rather still be in bed.

Long time readers will know that I've loved Lanolips for the longest time, and recently I was sent the Lanolips 101 Ointment Fruities in Green Apple.* Lanolips are incredibly hydrating and long lasting. I normally apply one first thing in the morning and find that it even lasts through my washing my face in the shower!! The Green Apple scent is beautiful but not overpowering.

I used to be signed up to a lot of monthly beauty boxes, but ended up stopping all of them except Maslow and Co. M&C release a new box every second month, and while they're more expensive I've found some amazing products in previous boxes. One of those products is the Mauli Rituals Grow Strong Hair Oil. While you're supposed to apply it at night and massage the oil in, I like to use it in the morning to help my hair look glossy and frizz free. I only need a small amount and it doesn't feel heavy or look oily.

Are there any products that you've been loving that I should try out?
Amy, XO

  3. You've got me so intrigued about the face rollers, I think I need one!! I really like the look of the contour and highlight palette by The Balm too. Is there such a thing as owning too many highlighters? I think not haha.
