DIY Face Mask: Manuka Honey Facial

Because Manuka Honey has antibacterial and antiseptic properties, it can be great for oily or blemish prone skin. It can help to heal acne prone skin and also combat redness from acne infections.

It's also a great anti aging mask because it moisturises and helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles from its antioxidant properties.

Here's how to use the honey as a mask...

Firstly, wash your skin. If you've had make up on, remember to double cleanse to make sure all traces of make up have been removed.

Apply a layer of the honey and let it do its magic for 10-15 minutes.

Wash it off with warm water and a clean face washer. Never use hot water since it can break capillaries in the skin and lead to permanent damage.

Tone and moisturise the skin.

And your skin should feel super smooth and hydrated!

If you have blemishes, soak a cotton ball in warm salt water and apply to your blemish for a few minutes, then follow up with the Manuka Honey Mask either all over your face or just on the inflamed spot.

The great thing with this facial is you can just use the honey by itself. If you're looking for a double benefit mask, like including exfoliating, also include crushed up almonds or oatmeal.
