Beauty Haul Featuring Revlon, Rimmel and Maybelline

Sunday 27 January 2013

On Friday I had a child free day, so I went into the city to do some shopping. I needed to get new clothes for Adeline and also buy make up for a blogger swap that I'm doing. While buying for the blogger swap, I also picked up a few things for myself.

Here's what I got...

Revlon "Colorstay Whipped Foundation"

This has been on my wishlist for a long time. I went to a counter in David Jones a few months ago to get colour matched and have it applied instore to see if it was for my skintone and skin type. I really liked it, but already had enough foundations at the time, and instead choose to get their mineral powder.

I really didn't need it at the moment, but wanted it! I don't think this will be my everyday foundation, but more for the occasions that I need my make up to last all day.

Revlon Photo Ready Sculpting Blush Palette in "Pink Rose" (001)

I was looking at this or the "Photo Ready Cream Blush." I had seen some beautiful swatches of the cream blush, but honestly the bright colours freak me out (even though I know that they can be applied softly and blended out). Also this one has a highlighter...and I'm obsessed with highlighter!

I got "Pink Rose" since the highlighter and blush was nicer for my skintone than the other one available. It also contains a bronzer but I don't think I'll use it as often as the blush and highlighter.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in "Sweetheart"

Surprisingly, I only own one of these. I was lucky enough to get one in a blogger swap I did last year. I tried to buy these late last year when Priceline had a buy one get one free deal, but they sold so quickly that I couldn't find a second one that I liked enough. Because let's be honest... it's not really a special if you don't love everything you buy! My rule of thumb is, "If I wouldn't pay full price for it, then I shouldn't buy it even if it's on special."

This is a gorgeous pink that's great for everyday. I was hoping that I could also pick up a red, but they were all sold out.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate Moss in "16"

This has been another one on my wishlist. I have a few Rimmel Lipsticks, and they are great! I love them as an inexpensive lipstick when trying a new trend. They are also quite moisturising and are long lasting.

Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in "Blonde"

I had seen a youTuber saying how great this was, but actually didn't realise it was available in Oz. I'm a bit apprehensive about this colourwise, as there was only "Blonde" or "Deep Brown" available. The "Deep Brown" would most likely be too dark, but I'm just a bit worried that the "Blonde" will be too light. My eyebrows are naturally light, so I need a liner to draw them in. I'm currently using a Models Prefer one that I love, but thought it would be good to see what else was out there.

I also picked up a new shower caddy this weekend. We accidentally left our shower caddy in Sydney, so we needed a new one.

This is a really cute bird shower caddy. I had seen this a while ago, and wanted it, so I thought it would be perfect to get now that we actually needed one!

Has anyone else been doing shopping this long weekend?
XO
