Want It Wednesday: Maybelline "Color Whisper" Lipstick

Last year, Revlon sent the beauty world into a spin with their Lip Butters. Hybrids of lipstick and balm.

They were perfect for anyone that hates the dryness of lipstick or for anyone that was getting into lipsticks but wanted a simple and easy to apply formula.

Maybelline have hit back with their own interpretation of the Lip Butters. "Color Whisper" is less of a lipstick and more of a tinted balm. Even the darker colours go on sheer, with buildability.

In the states, they offer 20 colours. Ranging from a gorgeous nude to lilac and pinks, there's something in there for everyone.

Some bloggers and youTubers have found that some of the shades are great dupes for the Lip Butters, so if you have a missing lip butter in your collection maybe try the Colour Whisper to see the difference.

I have purchased 2 colours ("Who Wore It Red-er" and "Pin Up Peach") on ebay, and will post on the blog as soon as I get them. In the meantime, check out Nycmakeuplover for more details on them and to see some swatches.

Will you be getting these or are you happy with your lip butters?
XO

PS A lot of bloggers say they are more like the L'Oreal Colour Riche Balms, but I decided to compare them to the Lip Butters since every person knows about them, but the L'Oreal ones have gone under the radar. If you haven't tried them out, put them on your wishlist! I had one and I LOVED it. Its one of the only lipsticks that I've ever finished. I'm looking at getting some more as they are perfect everyday lipsticks. They are so hydrating and easy to apply. When I post about the Maybelline lipsticks, I'll also do a comparison of the L'Oreal and Revlon Lip Butters.

  1. Ohhh I love the sound of this! It looks just as pretty as the Lip Butters too! I'm definitely going to have to get my hands on some of these babies!

    1. I'm not sure when they are coming to Australia but ebay has quite a lot of them for sale. I got 2 for $22 (including shipping) I'm expecting they would be about $15 each when sold in Aus anyway, so it was a good bargain :)

  2. I'm meant to be doing Project Pan (oops) but I picked up one colour from the range off ebay. I can't remember the exact name but it's Coral something.. Really looking forward to it arriving!
