These are a few of my favourite things... January Favourites

Tuesday 5 February 2013

Can you believe that this is my very first monthly favourites post??? I'm not sure why it took so long to start it, but here's what has been rocking my boat last month.

Make Up

Napoleon "Camera Finish"

I have been using this for about 6 months now and I've hit pan. I absolutely love it! I use it to set my make up for the day. It's really lightweight and doesn't look or feel cakey. While I'll repurchase it in the future, the next powder that I want to try is the Rimmel "Stay Matte" Pressed Powder, since I've heard so many great things about it.

Mirenesse "Magic Touch Foundation"

This is a perfect everyday foundation. It helps to get rid of my pigmentation and give me glowing skin. I normally set it with the Napoleon "Camera Finish" to stop it from being more greasy that glowy.

The Balm Shady Lady in "Just This Once Jamie" eyeshadow

I've been loving using this as a crease colour to contour my eyes. It's a gorgeous shimmery that isn't too dark but still gives depth to my eyes.

Mirenesse Pearl Crush Creaseless Shadows in "Keshi Pearls"

Most days, I've been using the lightest colour as my base and then using The Balm eyeshadow to contour. It's the perfect base colour as it's shimmery but a very neutral colour. It also helps to disguise any redness on the lids. I find it's great by itself or as a base for a smokey eye.

Bourjois Blush in "34"

This is an absolutely beautiful blush. It's a gorgeous pink, with a golden shimmer and it makes your cheeks glow. It also has the most beautiful smell... like candy. If you haven't tried their blushes yet, put it on your wishlist as they are worth the money.

Burts Bee's "Replenishing Lip Balm" (with pomegranate oil)

This is such a fantastic lip balm. It really hydrates your lips and makes them feel really smooth. It also has the slightest tint, so even if I don't want to wear lipstick, I won't look washed out by having natural-ish lips.

Carmex "Moisture Plus Sheer Tint"

When I haven't been reaching for my Burts Bees lip balm, I've been reaching for this. It's fantastic at hydrating my lips and giving them a swipe of colour. Perfect for when you're on the go. I got this in one of my beauty boxes and I really wish that I had used it earlier as it's fantastic!

Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour in "Rhubarb"

This is a gorgeous lip gloss that gives my lips the impression that they are natural(ish) but just better! The formula is long lasting and is really glossy without being sticky.

Skincare

Mirenesse Endless Youth "Ocean Milk Mousse Mask"

This is such an odd mask. It comes out as a gel and quickly turns to a foam. After a minute or two the foam starts to "pop" and leaves a ticklish feeling on the skin. It leaves you with glowing skin that's hydrated and soft. I just adore this mask. I use it once a week.

Haircare

De Lorenzo "Instant Rejuven8 Treatment" Mask

This is one of my beauty box subscription items. I used to use this when I was a teen and had dark hair that I dyed constantly. It has a gorgeous fruity scent and it hydrates and makes your hair so soft. I'm out of my holy grail mask (O&M Seven Day Miracle Masque) but this is a good replacement.

  4. Jasmine - You should try it out. It's actually on special at the moment and you get a free powder with it

Sharleena - I think it would be ok for sensitive skin. After a few uses you don't notice the tingling as much. You could maybe buy the sample size first and see if you like it or if it's ok for your skin :)

Hi Billi- I'm so glad you like the changes :) I agree about the monthly faves. It's always interesting to see what people have as their staples every month.
