First Impressions: Neutrogena Naturals "Purifying Cleanser" Review

Monday 1 April 2013

Neutrogena Naturals is a recently released range of skincare products. The range includes a cleanser, make up remover cleanser, face and body bar and facial scrub. Also apart of the range is a lip balm that I'm obsessed with. I've previously reviewed it here

Today I'm doing a first impressions review on the cleanser.

What I noticed firstly is the smell. It has an apple and bark smell that's really nice and makes me feel like I'm in the woods.

It's a gel cleanser than turns into a creamy foam. Typically I prefer to use gel cleansers in the summer time when my skin is oilier. While the weather here in Australia is getting colder, I found that this didn't make my skin feel tight or dry. It just left it feeling soft and clean.

It contains Willowbark extract, which is a natural salicylic acid. This helps to get rid of dirt, germs and make up while still being gentle on all skin types.

The packaging is really sleek and simple, while tying in with the natural theme. It's been made to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The packaging is recyclable and even the lip balm outer packaging is made from recycled paper.

There will be a day moisturiser and a night moisturiser released later in the year.

In the US, there is an "Acne" range in the Naturals collection. It includes a foaming scrub, cream cleanser and spot treatment. While I don't suffer from acne, I think it's great to have a gentle acne range as so many are irritating on sensitive skin. I'm not sure if or when the acne range will be available in Australia.

For $14.99 you get 177mls, so it's great value for anyone on a budget. I found I only needed a pea size to cover my whole face. I love that it's easily available from supermarkets and chemists.

Will you be picking up any of the Naturals range?
XO

  1. I really like Nutrogena's cleansers, but sometimes find them a little too harsh on my skin. I don't like that dry and tight feeling either, so I'm really intrigued by their new naturals range. I might give them another go :)

  2. Tiggy, have you tried their cream cleansers? If you get that tight feeling, chances are it's because it's too drying and harsh for your skin. XO

  4. I am really enjoying this cleanser thanks to your recommendation, it removes my makeup and doesn't irritate my skin at all. I also discovered yesterday that it is fantastic for cleaning brushes! (synthetic, I haven't tried it with my natural hair ones).
