Pure Fiji "Coconut Sugar Rub" and "Coconut Hydrating Body Lotion" Review

Thursday 15 August 2013

Pure Fiji is a brand that I first heard of from our Australian beauty boxes. Their products use a mix of ancient beauty traditions with new technology.

Their products use amazing ingredients like sugar cane, coconut, papaya, pineapple and passionflower. They process the ingredients within hours to preserve the natural nutrients from the produce, so they are left with pure and natural products.

Their ingredients are "wild harvested" which reduces the need to use chemical nasties, like pesticides. It means it's not only safer for you, but also the environment.

I was sent both the Coconut Body Lotion and the Coconut Sugar Rub. They are the two best selling products in Australia, so I knew that they would be good.

But I was surprised at how amazing the Coconut Sugar Rub was. I'm not a huge fan of sugar scrubs, as I've previously tried them and they are messy and can be a bit of a pain to use.

But THIS changed my opinion. The Coconut Sugar Rub is in a tub, which while isn't the easiest to use (I'm clumsy and always have issues with closing tubs), the product makes the tub worth dealing with.

The great thing about this scrub is the fact that it not only is a chemical exfoliant, but also a manual one too. The Raw Sugar Cane contains alpha hydroxyls which is where the chemical exfoliation comes in, as well as the sugar being a manual exfoliant. The cold pressed virgin coconut oil and nut extract keep your skin moisturised and hydrated.

The best way to use the scrub is to have slightly damp skin, then use the scoop and to apply one scoop of the scrub onto your body. As you massage the scrub in, the sugar starts to dissolve.

It's best to leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off, but if I'm in a hurry I'll try leave it on for 2-3 minutes.

After I've washed it off, I then towel dry and apply the moisturiser. I'm left with seriously soft and smooth skin (that also smells delicious). Because the coconut oil is so hydrating, I could even skip moisturiser and my skin would still feel soft and hydrated.

Surprisingly, even the next day I could still feel my skin hydrated and soft.

The tub will last between 15-18 uses and costs $49.95. I could use this every day (because it's so incredible!) but once to twice a week will still leave you with soft and smooth skin.

The Coconut Body Lotion is another one of my favourite products. I had received a small sample of this in one of my beauty boxes a long time ago, and loved it. It smells amazing and makes your bathroom (and you) smell incredible.

It contains cold pressed coconut oil, as well as coconut milk and nut extracts. Since the coconut oil is fresh, it keeps nutrients like vitamins A, B, C and E high and effective.

It's a light weight lotion so it sinks into the skin. But because of its hydrating ingredients, it leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised.

I use this at night, as I love to go to bed smelling beautiful. But if I'm not going to wear perfume in the day, then I love to use this in the morning too.

The packaging is great because it's has a pump applicator. It's easy to use and mess free.

The body lotion is $29.95 for 354ml.

They have 10 fragrances available in both the Sugar Rub and the Body Lotion. There is also Mango (YUM), Frangipani, Coconut Milk & Honey, Gingerlily, Starfruit, Pineapple (YUM), Island Bliss, Orange Blossom and Passionflower (It smells so pretty!).

I'm so impressed with both of these products and now I want to try out more of the range. They also have hair products and skincare, which I didn't know about before. Their Anti-Aging Boosting Dilo Oil sounds amazing!!

Not only do they have great scents and products, another great reason to use the brand is that they also care about the environment and the community of the Pacific Islands. They support the community by supporting businesses, giving out school scholarships and mentoring small businesses. They limit their carbon footprint and use packaging that is safer for the environment.

Have you tried anything from Pure Fiji? What fragrance would you love to try?

  3. These sound so nice, but I'm loving the sound of that scrub! (I love the little spoon it comes with!) A bit pricey for a scrub but hey, it looks good! I'm with you - tubs are annoying haha!
