These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things... June 2016

Monday 4 July 2016

June has been a nightmare month for me. While nothing truly horrible happened, it just felt like one bad thing after another. My husband was away in the US for work, my daughters and I have had gastro and then a cold and we've also had no internet thanks to the workers stuffing up while trying to implement the NBN on our street!!

I haven't been able to show on the blog or social media the AMAZING products that I've been trialling. So my first post back HAD to be a favourites post!!!

Make Up

I feel bad for mentioning this but I've been adoring the Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette. I did (mostly) buy this for the stunning packaging, but I've been so surprised with how usable this is considering it's a lot brighter than my usual nude palette obsession. It's really made me fall in love with colour.

The Lush Strawberry Bombshell Lip Tint* just made it into my monthly favourites as it came on the very last day of the month. I tried out the tinted lipbalm and it was love at first use. I even went out that day and bought another one!!! Expect to see these new lip tints on my social media A LOT!

I've gone back to using the CoverGirl The Super Sizer Mascara. It's an amazing mascara that lengthens, thickens and gives me a false lash effect. The wand is small and thin, so it's perfect if you have small eyes or want to get right into the lash line.

I've been trying to perfect my liquid liner and I've been loving the Max Factor Colour X-Pert Waterproof Eyeliner.* It's really easy to use and it stays put all day. The tip is flexible enough to make it easy to use but not enough that it's wobbly and is all over the place.

I also wanted to mention Zoe Foster Blake's updated book "Amazinger Face." I have the original version and I love it, but I wanted the new version because there's 60 new pages. What I really loved about the original version was that Zoe recommended specific products, rather than just talking about a particular category like serums and leaving the hard work (finding a product) for you. If you love Zoe then you'll want to pick up this book.

Hair

This next one is something that I use ALL THE TIME but sometimes I forget to mention. The bHave Rescue Intense Repair Shampoo* & Conditioner* is my holy grail, ride or die shampoo & conditioner. I've been trialing other brands over the last few months, but I ALWAYS go back to bHave! I feel like this duo was created especially for me and my hair as I've never had another duo work as well.

The Pureology Colour Fanatic Multi-Tasking Hair Beautifier* is one of the best leave in hair conditioners that I've ever tried. It helps to not only put moisture back into my hair but also it helps detangle my hair both wet or dry. It has 21 benefits to your hair including UV protection, assisting against colour fade, thermal protection and more! It's a spray so I find that it's perfect for my fine hair. I can't rave about this enough!!

I mentioned the Irresistible Me Ruby Auto Rotating Curler* in my April/May favourites and I have to mention it again! It's such an awesome hair curler. Depending on my mood, I either use the auto curling for when I'm lazy or I can also use it without the auto mode. My hair is quite long and it can become lank due to the weight of my lengths, but whenever I use this my hair stays curly until I wash my hair!! You can see their other hair tools here.

After having both Adeline and Scarlett, I suffered from postpartum hair loss (which is something that they don't warn you about when you're pregnant!). While my hair has been growing super long over the last 2 years, I found that most of my hairloss happened around the forehead line. The hair is slowly growing back but I hate the in between phase where the hair isn't long enough to put back in my pony with the other hair. I've been taking some hair skin and nail vitamins as well as using the Grow Gorgeous Back To The Roots 10 Minute Stimulating Scalp Masque. I picked this up from the last Priceline 50% off haircare sale and I wish that I bought more of them!! It has a cooling and tingling feeling on your scalp. I normally try to massage it in for a minute or two to encourage hair growth. You apply it and then rinse it out, so you're not left with oily or messy hair. If you're wanting to grow your hair long, then you NEED this!!

Skincare

I love using facial oils and the Crop Skincare Pure Macadamia Oil is INCREDIBLE. you can use it on your face, body and hair. I normally use this as a facial oil and once or twice a week I'll apply it to my hair before I wash it. They also sell a Rosehip Oil and and Argan Oil, which I'll have to pick up.

I mentioned last month that my skin has been going a bit crazy. Gel cleansers are too harsh on my skin but creamy ones feel too hydrating. I've been using the Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser* that I received from the Jurlique Burnside store after having their Signature Facial. I like that it's a creamy consistency that's lightweight and ends up being a foam cleanser. This way I get the best of both worlds!!

I've been loving using my MOR Hand & Body Milk as my usual body moisturiser either alone or with a perfume. I've been alternating between the Marshmallow scent and the Rosa Noir, depending on my mood.

Random Favourite

I'm so excited at the return of the TV show Unreal. If you love The Bachelor and dark humour, then you'll love this. It's gritty, twisted and once you start watching you'll have to binge watch the rest of the season.

What have you been loving in June?

    1. Slowly getting there. It always is hard when one person gets sick as you know everyone else will too! :( It's a great mascara. Keep an eye out for Woolies and Coles having a sale too. I normally pick it up when they have 30-50% off CoverGirl.
