Reviewed: The Parcel Spring Edition 2016

Monday 19 September 2016

Today the latest box from The Parcel arrived at my door. If you don't know, The Parcel is a seasonal box. I actually prefer this over a box that comes every month because I find that monthly boxes seem to repeat a lot of brands and products. A box that comes every 2nd or 3rd month gives the brand enough time to source newer and more interesting products.

My first impressions was "This box is really heavy!!!" when I picked it up from my porch.

When I opened the box, there was a lot of products in there and luckily only one sachet!! I find that monthly boxes always have so many sachets and it doesn't really give you enough product to see any results.

One of the first products to jump out at me was the Essano Argan Oil Of Morocco Duo Pack. It has a travel sized (50ml each) shampoo and conditioner. I'm currently using their toning mist (which I love) and was very excited to see this in the box.

Another exciting product was the MOR Mon Amie Adele Luminous Body Milk. I adore MOR products and this one has such a beautiful scent. If you love their Marshmallow scent, then you'll also love this.

There was a deluxe sample of the Sunsense Sensitive Invisible SPF 50+ sunscreen. I currently use a Mecca sunscreen, so I'm excited to see how this compares as it's a quarter of the price!!

There's also a sachet of The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. While I don't always have too much luck with purifying masks due to my skin not being oily, I'm excited to try this out because I haven't tried a Body Shop mask in forever. The new range of their masks really interests me, especially the honey mask.

Included is a very cute travel sized Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Purpose Dry Oil. I already have a full size, so this will be a cute one for travelling.

Inside the box was also a lovely deluxe sample of the Narciso Rodriguez For Her Eau De Toilette. This is a lovely soft scent that would have been perfect for winter as it's a very cozy scent.

To get you ready for the warmer weather they also included a St Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mouse and Applicator Mitt. I think it was so great to include a mitt as it's such an essential tool to use when you're fake tanning. To help you get the best tan they also included a C-LAB & CO Coffee & Coconut Scrub

Next up is the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. Sadly I bought this when it was first released so I'll be passing this onto my mum. While it's not the best quality, I really like the colours.

And finally there was a deluxe sample of the Nude By Nature Natural Mineral Cover. This is in the colour "medium" which is wayyyyy to dark for me. I really like NBN, but sadly their colours don't run pale enough for me.

So as you can see, the box is fulled with some great products. Sadly this box disappointed me as half of the box I won't use. I already have the Maybelline palette, the NBN sample is too dark, I don't tan so I'll pass it on to someone who does and I hate coffee scrubs because they're so messy!!! But I really love the other products. I feel like this box would be great for someone who doesn't normally get subscription boxes. It has some great brands and good products but it just doesn't have a wow factor for me. I sort of feel like they just put left over products in that have been in a million other subscription boxes. I would have loved to see a new Maybelline product instead of something that's been out for a year or more.

Did you get this box? Do you feel the same way as me?
Amy, XO

  1. I haven't subscribed to these beauty boxes in a while because I never end up using any of the products. I was surprised at the amount of deluxe/full sized products you received.

  4. I can't decide if I should subscribe to The Parcel or not, as I'm a bit iffy about some of the contents.

I usually think that if I like a couple of the items, it's a win for me. I do like the look of the coffee scrub, shampoo/conditioner duo and the lotion! I also have that Narciso Rodriguez scent and it's gorgeous, I get lots of compliments whenever I wear it!

Great review as always, Amy! xx

  5. It's a shame that you won't be able to use some of the products, but it looks like they sure include a lot of full sized items!
