First Impressions: Garnier "Sensitive Skin" BB Cream

Tuesday 14 May 2013

Recently I was sent the new Garnier BB Cream for Sensitive Skin from Beauty Heaven as apart of their trial team.

I was lucky enough to be sent both the light and medium cream to test onto my skin to get the correct colour. Since I'm light, I've only used the light version as the medium will turn me into an oompa loompa.

When Garnier first released their original BB cream, I had a love hate relationship with it. I loved the look of it on my skin. It was slightly a bit too orange, but it gave you a beautiful glow and finish. After using it a few times, I found that I started to break out. I know a lot of people complained about that, and that's why their oil free version was created.

My skin is on the sensitive side, but I normally have issues with cleansers or masks, not with make up. I've found that this version is the best of the 3 BB creams.

It didn't break me out like the original did, or make my skin feel oily. I can actually use a sunscreen underneath it and not feel greasy or oily. It does have SPF 15, but I like to make sure my skin is protected with SPF 30+.

It goes on so smoothly and is easy to rub in. I've tried it with a buffing brush, but prefer to use my hands, as it gives the most natural finish.

The packaging is really easy to use, and it's a great option for when you're travelling, as you don't have to worry about it spilling or breaking since it's not in glass packaging.

While it looks quite dark when you squeeze it out of the tube, it sinks into the skin really easily and becomes light onto the skin. I feel like this is a paler version of "light" than the original version. When I took this photo, the BB cream had been on my skin for a few minutes and the edges had dried a little bit making them look quite dark.

As you can see once you've rubbed it into the skin, it sinks in really easily and gives you a flawless result.

I adore the fact that it's marketed at any ages. No matter how young or old, this is a great bargain buy.

While it's not like a true Asian BB cream, it's the best BB cream out of all the other BB creams available at the supermarket or chemists.

Which is your favourite BB Cream?
XO

I was kindly sent this to review for a website trial team, not for my blog. All thoughts and views are completely my own, and are always 100% honest. See my disclosure policy here.

  2. I'm part of this trial team too! I agree that this one is definitely better than the last one (and lighter, too!) and it's more wearable for me... although still slightly too dark, which only means that I can skip the bronzer haha!

  3. I didn't know they made a sensitive version of their BB creams.

I tried the normal one, but I think we look shiny if we apply just a little too much. It was too dark for my skin tone as well, even if I have a fair skin.
But I really liked the scent and the coverage.

  5. I like that they have released one for sensitive skin, that is a great idea. Lately I have gone off all BB creams and tinted moisturisers and have gone back to my true love, Bare Minerals mineral foundation and mineral veil. It looks so good and my skin is loving it. Then again, I do use a tinted moisturiser or BB cream if I am adding a liquid blush or creme blush. It just feels better x Ingrid
