My Microdermabrasion Love: HydroPeptide "Anti-Wrinkle Polish & Plump Peel" Review

Sunday 5 May 2013

A few weeks I reviewed the Natio "Renew Radiance Exfoliator", and mentioned that once a week I do an at home microdermabrasion.

Today I've got a review on the 2 step process that I use to make my skin so incredible smooth and soft.

The HydroPeptide "Anti-Wrinkle Polish & Plump" is an at home microdermabrasion treatment that is great for anyone that is time or money poor. You can get a exfoliation but on steriods (metaphorically speaking) effect without having to leave your home.

I was sent this late last year as a part of a trial team for a website. It's something I had never actually heard of before, but I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to use this, as I've fallen in love with it.

This is a great anti aging product because it not only helps to fill in wrinkles by plumping the skin, but also exfoliates dead skin cells and brings new skin cells to the surface. You're left with plumper, smoother, softer and radiant skin.

When I first used it, I only did step one. My skin can be sensitive enough after a regular exfoliation, so I was a bit scared of using this.

You only need a 5c piece for step 1. It's almost like a fine sugar scrub (in consistency).  You apply it onto clean skin and massage it in for 1-3 minutes. Depending if your skin easily reacts, you might find that 30 seconds lightly rubbed onto the skin is enough.

Since using it the first time, I've been able to massage it in for longer as my skin has gotten used to it.

I find that my skin feels slightly warm when I use this. It's not uncomfortable or irritating.

Next you apply step 2, which is a clear gel. You apply the gel OVER the scrub. Rub it in, and leave it for 1-2 minutes. It's a lactic peel that assists in ridding the dead skin cells from the skin.

Depending on how senstive my skin is feeling, I might rub this in for 20-30 seconds then leave on for a minute or two. Otherwise I'll massage it for longer if my skin isn't feeling sensitive.

Here's step 1 and and step 2. As you can see step 1 (the top swatch) is grittier, and step 2 is a clear gel.

Ocne you apply the gel onto the scrub and rub it in, it will turn to an almost foam look. After you wash this off, you might find that your skin is slightly red. I normally apply a cloth mask onto my skin after using this. Because my skin is freshly exfoliated, the ingredients from the cloth mask really sink into the skin and I see great results.

This 2 step treatment contains antioxidants, green tea, vitamin C and peptides to leave your skin glowing.

I really notice a difference when I use this every week. I went 3 weeks without using it (and just used a normal exfoliator) and OMG my skin looked so patchy, felt rough and just didn't glow.

I've only got a little bit left (maybe for 3 treatments) but will be purchasing this pack very soon. I can't live without it! While the pack is quite expensive to order in Australia ($99 from Facial Company website), it's lasted me nearly 6 months (while using it once a week), so when you look at it like that, it's actually incredibly affordable. You can also purchase it from Skinstore.com for $68.00US (but check out their shipping costs for shipping to your country).

Have you ever used an at home microdermabrasion kit? Have you ever seen a dermatologist to get a peel or scrub?

  2. Great review!! I have never heard of this before, but it sounds like a fantastic product, and personally I think $99 is ok for a product that lasts that long - imagine the money you would have spend on professional treatments in that period!!

  3. I've never tried microdermabrasion ever before! But I am curious - it sounds like it really works.

  4. This looks really interesting! I'm still a bit cautious with peels/etc as I have a history of psoriasis. I am currently using (you guessed it! ;)) a gentle exfoliant from okoii which can be adjusted in terms of graininess depending on how my skin is feeling on any given week.

  5. Women are very cautious about their skin. It is very important for them And they take proper care of it. There are various surgical and non surgical treatments for the skin. It depends on your choice about which one to opt. Treatments depend on skin as well. The above method can be very useful for you. I have seen many laser treatments as well. I also opted for it. You can also refer, it might be useful http://www.havanatherapy.com/anti-wrinkle
