Lancome "UV Expert BB Complete SPF30" Review

The new Lancome BB cream is a skincare hybrid (sunscreen, anti aging cream and moisturiser) but gives a slight make up finish. It covers, corrects and protects.

The packaging is very sleek and looks glam. It’s much nicer packaging than other BB creams that I have. Not only does it look luxurious, it also feels it too! It comes in a tube that’s easy to use and in the box there are instructions included.

What it looks like before rubbing in

The colour of the BB cream rubbing in

Tada!! All rubbed in.
It gives a smoother, hydrated
appearance.

The cream has an almost grey look (shade 1). I was quite surprised and wasn’t sure how it would look on my skin. It has a really smooth consistency that’s easy to apply. I prefer to apply this with my hands as it gives a beautiful and natural finish. I don’t need very much to be able to cover my face and neck.
The cream gives a really natural look, not a foundation like mask. I use it in a few different ways. I either use it as a classic tint and only apply this. It’s beautiful as a sunscreen by itself, but with a nice "veil" to hide imperfections.
It’s also beautiful to use with just a concealer for redness and blemishes and a light dusting of translucent powder. This is great for me when I’ll mostly be home, but might go out for a quick trip to the shops or the park.
Otherwise I use it as a sunscreen and primer all in one, before applying foundation. Even though it has a tint, I do have red cheeks and pigmentation, so I need a little bit more coverage.
As for it’s performance, it lasts all day. It goes from a dewy look to a more matte powdery finish, so you’re not left shiny. It gives your skin a glow without being shiny. It's non greasy even though it has an SPF of 30+. This will protect you from UVA and UVB rays. The high sunscreen level makes it perfect for the Australian climate
One thing that I loved about this is that it didn't break me out like other BB creams or sunscreens. Sunscreen is a great anti aging product and having a 2 in 1 product (sunscreen protection + covering imperfections) makes the morning routine easy as it's a one step process.

You save on money by not having to purchase a separate sunscreen. As well as the fact that I need only a little bit, because it goes a long way so it will last a long time.

I adore the Lancome rose on the lid!

It comes in 2 “colours.” A cool and warm toned. I love the idea of having it into cool and warm toned as most BB creams come in light, medium and sometimes dark. This helps to correct your skintone, no matter how light or dark your skin is.

An easy to open, but bag proof screw lid

Once you've used this, you won't be able to be without it!

Have you used a high end BB cream? What’s your favourite BB cream?

  1. I haven't tried a high end BB cream before but this one looks cool although very grey as you mentioned. I can imagine it would create a great base before applying foundation:) x

  2. Hi Amy... This looks very sheer! I personally prefer heavier coverage to hide my freckles. ;) however I'm sure this looks awesome on your skin! :)

I think these sorts of BBs are good for people who don't like to wear much makeup or who are new to makeup and want to work their way up slowly. :)

  3. Ingrid... It's an amazing base. I love that I can use it as a sunscreen, primer and moisturiser in one :)

Sarah... While it's sheer, it's perfect as a primer too. I find I use less concealer on my blemishes and pigmentation when I use this first.
