Nivea "In-Shower Body Lotion Skin Conditioner" Review

Thursday 5 September 2013

The new Nivea "In-Shower Body Lotion Conditioner" is something that I've seen a lot of bloggers talking about this recently, and I was really excited to have one sent to me.

So what exactly is an in shower body lotion? It's a genius lotion that you apply to your skin after using your usual body wash or soap. You wash it off, dry your skin and then get dressed.

Because it's hydrating, you don't need to follow up with a body lotion after stepping out of the shower.

I like to exoliate and shave first and then I apply this onto my skin. I let it sink in for 30-60 seconds before rinsing off.

You'll be left with a slight "coating" on your skin. It's not uncomfortable, but just feels slightly strange when you first use it. If you've ever used coconut oil in the shower, its a similar after feeling to using this.

I have to admit the first few times that I used this I still applied a moisturiser afterwards. Not because I felt like I needed to, but purely because it's a habit of mine (and I'm a creature of habit!). I still normally apply a moisturiser afterwards, but tend to skip applying one at night and use only this to hydrate my skin.

The packaging is really great. The bottle is quite big (400ml) and it's easy to use.

I absolutely love this! I really wish that this was around when I was pregnant and was suffering from the horrid itchy stomach!

If you forget to apply moisturiser, then this is a great way of still getting much needed moisturiser onto your body. It's also great in winter when you don't want to wait around for your body lotion to dry.

The only negative that I can see with this, is that you do need quite a lot to cover your whole body. But it only costs $7.99, so it doesn't really matter if it only lasts 3 or 4 weeks.

I received the "Normal to Dry Skin." There's also a "Very Dry Skin" option for those that have extremely dry skin.

Once I've finished this, I'll be picking up the Very Dry Skin version to see the difference.

You can pick these up from Priceline, selected chemists and supermarkets.

Are you hopeless at applying moisturiser?
XO

  3. Hi, love your blog. Just one quick question, does this stuff leave a 'slippery film' in the shower? Reason I ask is I have a little guy who showers and I don't want him to slip over. Thanks Sarah

  4. Jasmine- Thanks :) It's such a simple idea, but so clever!

Jasmine H- Ohhhh it's the perfect product for you :)

Anon- I don't get a slippery floor. It should be ok for him. I would either try it out for yourself, or put on of those no slip plastic bath mats to put in the shower if you're worried :)
