O&M "Style Guru" Styling Cream and "Frizzy Logic" Shine Serum Review

Monday 23 September 2013

I've been a fan of O&M (otherwise known as Original & Mineral) for nearly 2 years now. I first heard about it because Zoe Foster raved about them. For Christmas 2 years ago I received a gift pack and it was love at first use.

Recently I was sent 2 of there newer products, Style Guru* and Frizzy Logic* to try out.

Here's a fun fact about me... The first hair product I bought with my own money was a leave in cream conditioner. It was love at first use.  I've always had a soft spot for cream products and Style Guru made me fall in love all over again with cream styling products.

I love that O&M packaging clearly states what type of hold and finish the product has. There's nothing worse than using a product and you end up finding out (always the hard way) that it's sticky and makes your hair hard.

There are also the instructions and ingredients listed on the bottle.

It contains Banksia Flower, which is a native Australian ingredient, as well as vitamins A, C and E which helps to soften and keep your hair smooth.

I love that this is a pump applicator. It's so much easier to use at home, especially if you're like me and have a lot of products but not a lot of room.

It's a cream that sinks into your hair really quickly. I generally use it on damp hair and scruch my hair to encourage it's natural wave. I then either let it air dry while it's down, or put it into a pony to dry by itself.

I find when I put it into a pony, my hair has this really nice wave to it.

One thing I've noticed with this is that it doesn't weigh my fine hair down like some creams can. I can apply it to freshly washed hair and it doesn't make me feel like I need to wash my hair the next day.

If you use it before blowdrying your hair, you end up with great volume and texture, especially if you embrace a full bodied bedhead effect.

This can be either a guy or girl hair product, but keep it away from your significant other, as you won't want to share this!

Like all O&M products, it smells beautiful. This has a sweet scent.

Style Guru is $26.95 for 150mls.

For me the Frizzy Logic Shine Serum is the stand out product from the O&M range (as well as their 2 hair masks). I'm a huge fan of hair oils, and this one is no exception.

While it's called a shine serum, it does so much more than just give you angelic halo looking hair.

It contains cold-pressed certified organic argan oil and macadamia nut oil to help give your hair a boost of moisture as well as helping to keep the dreaded frizzies hidden.

This is normally the last product that I use on my hair. I will apply a spray leave in conditioner to help detangle my hair, then apply the Style Guru and finish with the frizzy logic.

I find that even though my hair is fine, it never makes it feel heavy or oily.

The packaging is fantastic for so many reasons. Firstly, unlike most hair oils, this is in a plastic container so it's perfect for clumsy people like me who constantly drop things.

Secondly the applicator makes it really hard to apply too much of the product since it doesn't pour out like glass bottle openings.

It's also the perfect size for travelling with as it's not too heavy or large. It's also so much safer to travel with.

The scent is a gorgeous fruity scent. It has a sweet berry scent.

It states the hold and the finish factor on both the outer golden packaging as well as on the bottle.

Frizzy Logic is $31.95 for 50mls, otherwise there's also a 10ml mini that is $9.95.

Both of these products last for 12 months after opening.

I'm yet to try their Rootalicious Root Lift Mousse, as mousses scare me (I've had bad experiences with them) but now I want to as O&M can do no wrong!

You can see the O&M website here to see their other haircare products and salon locations. If you love shopping online, then check out their range on Adore Beauty here

  1. Great post! I love O&M, and really want to try Style Guru now - cream conditioners are my go-to products for silky, touchable hair. I'm also curious about Frizzy Logic but hair oils always make my hair lanky and greasy. So interesting that you have fine hair & liked it, makes me want to test it out as well!

  2. I adore Original & Mineral. I've never been left disappointed by their products and I use No Knott nearly every day. It's the best. I used to have the mini Frizzy Logic which was perfect to have in my handbag for touch ups on the go. X
