Fridays Favourites

Friday 17 August 2012

Hi Lovelies,

How has your week been? It's already Friday Favourites, so here's what has been rocking my (beauty) world.

What I'm Wearing...

Sunscreen!! It's one thing I'm normally not too vigilant about (since my make up and moisturisers has SPF15 in it) but for the last 2 months, I've been making it my number 1 skin priority. I left my beloved Ultraceuticals Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 in Adelaide, so I've been using the Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster SPF30. I've been really impressed with it. No breakouts or greasy skin!!

I've started using step 2 of the Alpha-H Skin Perfecting System. Step 2 is using the much raved about Liquid Gold. I'm working on a post about my experience on the step 1. So stay tuned!

I started using my I Love...Coconut And Cream body butter this week and I smell delicious! It's a really thick body moisturiser that has the perfect amount of scent that isn't too overpowering. It really is perfect for the winter weather since its so moisturising.

I've been sick this week, so I've been mostly barefaced so I could apply rosehip oil onto my nose throughout the day. It's truly incredible in stopping your nose from cracking and flaking. And the best part is that the oil doesn't irritate or make your nose "zing" when you put it on.

Our hot water system broke on Thursday and JUST got fixed. 1 and a half days without hot water was horrible. Especially when I had to wash my hair. Washing it without the luxury of warm water in a shower made me feel like a cave girl!!

Things I'm lusting for...

Since I got the Soap & Glory products in my blogger swap I've been really interested in their other products. I want to get their Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser and Hocus Focus brightener.

Blogs or Blog Posts I've loved so much I've read more than once...

Over at The Made Up Maiden, we learn about her Holy Grail products. I adore reading about what people MUST HAVE. With so many beauty items available, it can be overwhelming, so it's great to have beauty bloggers recommend their favourites.

I ADORE this Modern Geisha Inspired Make up look from MC Miki 93. I love how wearable it is for everyday use.

A foundation review can be tricky to do for so many reasons. It's not just about if you liked it, but it's also about your skin tone, skin type and what finish you like. Not to mention if there is a colour that suits you. Clare did a great review on the Bourjois Bio Detox Foundation that made me want to get it.

Sarah blogged about her new skincare routine from "Okoii" which is a natural skincare line. I loved that she reached out to the brand to find out what products would suit her skin. It's such a great idea if you're ordering online.

On my mind...

What goodies to put on my US wishlist. My hubby is going overseas for work in November and I'm sending him to Sephora to pick me up a few (suitcases). What's on your Sephora wish list?

XO

  1. It's great that you are vigiliant about sunscreen, I admit I am often slack so need to step up my game with this! Clare's Bourjois review was so good, it really made me want to try it out!

  2. Hi I agree sunscreen is very important. I've been careful to slather it on particularly on the back of my hands and my skin has improved (in terms of signs of sun damage - I get freckles easily!

That's horrible about the hot water service - worst time of year to have a cold shower! Get well soon.

Ps. Thanks for including me in this week's Favourites I'm so glad that you enjoyed my post! :)

I actually saw this before I saw your tweet, lol.

I love that you're being more vigilant about sunscreen! I want to try using it on my hands next.

I can't believe you took cold showers! My cold water comes out at about 3 degrees, brr! Glad it's been repaired and I hope you are feeling much better now!
