These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things: November Favourites 2013

Wednesday 4 December 2013

Can you believe that it's already December!

November has flown by. Between starting to work again and my daughter being sick, November was hectic. My make up was fairly neutral and simple for November, but I tried a few new amazing products that I wanted to mention in my favourites.

Skincare

Pevonia Renewing Glycocides Cream*

I've been using this for 2 months now and I'm still loving it. I've mentioned it a few times on the blog and there's a good reason for it... it's amazing.

It helps to lightly exfoliate your skin at night, and in the morning you're left with softer, smoother and brighter skin.

I find that I do still feel a small tingling, but as I said in my original review, that it seems to be in spots where I have a blemish.

Even though I've been using it every second night for 2 months, it barely looks like I've used it. It's pricey, but I feel like it will last a good 7-8 months, so it's a great investment skincare product.

I've previously reviewed this here

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo*

This is a fantastic tube of skincare gold. I haven't been using it every day, just when I have blemishes. It helps to quickly make the blemish disappear and heals the skin so I'm not left with marks.

I love that it doesn't dry out my skin unlike other blemish creams.

I've previously reviewed it here

People For Plants Foaming Cleansing Gel*

I was previously using the nude Nude By Nature cleanser (which you can read about here) but I left it at my parents house so I decided to use this instead of travelling 2 hours to get the NBN cleanser.

I received this at the Adelaide Beauty Conference, which is a day full of fun for Adelaide (and interstate) beauty bloggers. I still need to write up all about it, but People For Plants was a sponsor of the day.

They kindly gifted everyone this cleanser, and I've been really enjoying using it. Even though it's for normal to combination skin, it's not drying at all.

It contains 74.5% organic ingredients and is sulphate free. It's Australian made and cruelty free.

I've really fallen in love with the brand and recently picked up their toner and the eye cream.

Nude By Nature Bright Eyes*

I haven't had a lot of sleep this month, as my daughter has been sick and I've started working again so a good eye cream is very important.

This one has a cooling rollerball that gives immediate results and helps to depuff the skin around my eyes. I love using this in the morning.

I've previously reviewed it here

Uriage Thermal Water Spray*

This has to be my favourite Thermal Spring Water available. It's incredibly light and you can barely feel it. It helps to hydrate your skin for 3 hours, so it's perfect for dry skin.

It's the perfect toner. I also love to keep this in the fridge and spray it on my skin after shaving.

I also found out that it can be used to set make up, but I haven't tried it out yet.

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Moisture Booster*

This is a product that's on many bloggers favourites lists because it's an affordable hydrating gel that suits every skintone.

I use it day and night and can really feel and see a difference when I use it.

Indeed Labs have recently released their Pepta-Bright Fade To Bright and I can't wait to pick that up, as I've heard so many great things about it from UK bloggers.

I've previously reviewed it here

Nude By Nature Nude Face Scrub*

This is a fantastic face scrub that isn't too rough, but still gives you soft skin. I love that it's a creamy scrub, rather than a gel scrub so it doesn't dry out my skin.

It contains amazing ingredients like Kakadu Plum, Quandong and Desert Lime, Coconut Husk (the exterior shell of the coconut), Jojoba Beads, Walnut Shells, Glycolic Acid, Avacado, Jojoba and Rosehip oil. It's also incredibly affordable.

I've previously reviewed this here.

Pevonia Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30*

This is a fantastic sunscreen that helps protects me from UVA and UVB rays. It's a SPF 30 sunscreen and isn't greasy at all. It also contains vitamins B, C and E. You can use it on either your face or body.

The packaging is fantastic and looks so chic.

The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Jojoba Youth Potion*

I forgot to photograph this :(

I'm a huge fan of oils, especially for your hair and skin, and have tried a lot of different ones. While this technically isn't an oil (it's a liquid wax ester), it does feel like one. I love to apply this on my skin as a mini hydrating mask. I pop it on my skin for 10 minutes while I do my hair or have breakfast and then pat off any excess with a paper towel before apply my make up. I'm left with soft skin.

I find when I apply this at night, I wake up with the softest skin. I always apply any excess on the backs of my hands and since I've been doing that the skin on my hands looks more youthful, softer and doesn't feel as dry.

It's an amazing product that I would recommend to everyone. It's hydrating and a brilliant anti-aging product.

I've previously reviewed this here.

Make Up

ELES Quad Shadow in "Debutante"

I've been loving using this eyeshadow quad to bring out my green eyes. It's a purpley/plum quad so it's beautiful for something different than my usual brown smokey eye.

I sometimes use all 4 colours, while other times I just will use one or two colours. I love that I can build up the colour for impact or just just a subtle swipe for a more natural look.

ELES always has a great GWP each month, and this month has another amazing offer. I'm looking at buying their Colour Tides Mineral Shimmering Powder later this month (hello payday!) and am excited to get the free bronzer.

Models Prefer "Airbrush Buffing" Brush

I bought this earlier in November and from the very first time that I used it, it was love. It feels incredibly soft and is the perfect size for buffing in foundation.

I like to use my hands to apply my foundation and then
I normally use this to make sure my foundation isn't streaky. I do a quick buff around my face and then focus on my nose as it has a tendency to get cakey and needs a little bit more attention to make sure it hasn't built up around the curves of my nose.

Priceline are having 50% off Models Prefer cosmetics and skincare from 5th until the 15th of December, and it includes their brushes. If you haven't tried their brushes, then this is the perfect chance to.... just make sure you leave some left for me ;)

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in1 Foundation

I heard some amazing things about this when it was first released, but promised myself that I wouldn't buy a foundation until I had finished one first.

I finally finished 2 foundations and decided to pick this up because of it's hype. And boy oh boy was I impressed with it!

Even though it still has a primer inbuilt, I still do apply a primer underneath as I need my make up to last from 7am-7pm. I love the colour range and find that this foundation looks and feels much more luxe than its price tag.

Lanolips Lemonaid

This is the 3rd tube that I've bought, so you know that it's an amazing product. It's a hydrating lip balm/gloss that really makes a difference to your lips. Instead of just making it feel hydrated, it also helps to exfoliate your lips.

Physician's Formula Airbrush Kabuki Brush

I purchased this from Iherb, since it's not available here. I've been using this to apply my mineral foundation and have found it's perfect!! It really does buff powder into the skin with an almost airbrush look.

The design of it makes it easy to hold and control. The only thing that annoys me, is because the bristles are short, it's very hard to wash.

You can purchase it here.

Hair

David Babaii Blow Out Spray*

I use this to protect my hair from hot tools. It also helps to reduce drying time and I've found that it gives my hair so much volume and body that it looks like I've put in extensions.

It's a beautiful mist that coats the hair quickly and evenly. I feel like this keeps my hair looking softer, shinier and healthier.

bhave Rescue Intense Shampoo and Conditioner*

I've blogged many, many times about my love for these. Since using these, my hair is in such better condition. My hair isn't as dry and I don't have as much hair fall too.

These bottles have lasted me for about 4 months, so they're value for money.

If you're unsure about what duo will suit your fair, they do have travel packs for Christmas (you can see them here) so you can try them out and make sure the pack suits your hair needs.

I've previously reviewed them here

Toni & Guy Dry Shampoo

This dry shampoo is amazing. It's topped my holy grail list of dry shampoos!

It's easy to use, I don't get a build up of dry shampoo like I do with other brands and it gives my hair a lot of volume. Priceline seem to have T&G on special often, so I'll be picking up more next time it's on special.

O&M Seven Day Miracle Masque*

This is my all time favourite hair mask. You can put it on for as little as 2 minutes (great for those mornings when you are late or can't be bothered) or for 45 minutes. I love to put it on my hair for 30-45 minutes to really repair and restore my damaged hair.

I've been using it with the "bhave" shampoo and conditioner and it's incredible!!

It has such a gorgeous scent and feels quite lightweight.  Even though it's for dry and damaged hair, it still is suitable for people with fine hair.

Body

Pure Fiji Coconut Sugar Rub*

I love this sugar scrub!! It not only gives you smooth skin, because of the coconut oils it also gives you soft and hydrated skin.

This month I've been using this mostly on my feet. I find that it helps to not only get rid of flakey gross dead skin, but also helps to moisturise them too.

I've reviewed it before here.

Premium Spa SOS Foot Scrub*

Premium Spa is an Australian brand that's been around for quite a few years, that recently revamped their line and packaging.

I've been using this every night after work to help revive and calm my sore, tired feet. I've previously bought a couple of their products from Priceline many years ago.

It's a creamy foot scrub that isn't too harsh, but still leaves your feet nice and soft. It contains lavender, pumice and peppermint and has a gorgeous relaxing smell.

There's also a matching lotion, which I love.

Natural Instincts Body Lotion*

I first was introduced to Natural Instinct from their Baby Bath Wash. I was looking for something natural and safe for my daughter and have since stuck with the bath wash.

They kindly sent me some of their range recently and I've fallen in love with the body lotion.

It contains jojoba, rosehip and avocado and is free of a lot of nasties like parabens, mineral oils, animal derivatives and more. I'm looking forward to using more of the range.

Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion*

I have this in "Coconut" and it smells incredible. It's a lightweight lotion that I like to apply before bed.

It's a little bit pricey, but it's completely an indulgent body lotion.

I've raved about this before here

So those were my favourites of November. Have you tried any of these?

  1. Ooh so many pretties this month <3 I really want to try the Lanolips Lemonaid now. The Toni and Guy Dry Shampoo didn't impress me as much as Batiste! But I think that it does give more volume :)
