Violet Box May 2015

Wednesday 10 June 2015

I used to always blog about the various monthly beauty boxes that I was signed up to, but since moving to Adelaide 2 years ago I stopped. It seemed a bit pointless doing another post about it considering it took about a week longer than those in Sydney/Melbourne and a lot of the blogs that I followed had already posted about the box.

But I thought that I would blog about the May Violet Box as I haven't seen any of my blogging friends post about it. VB are the only box that I'm currently signed up to. I found that Bellabox was very underwhelming and full of a lot of small samples. Lust Have It was good, but I was starting to get overwhelmed with getting multiple boxes so I choose to stop my LHI membership and just stay with VB.

Overall I've been really happy with them. I've gotten every box since they launched and I always find that they have a good collection of make up, skincare and haircare.

This months box was probably one of my least favourites. Here's what was in it...

Hair & Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment (90ml)

This is probably my most favourite product in the box. It's an organic hair mask with coconut, macadamia, jojoba and almond oil. I'm really looking forward to using this. According to their website, there should be 2-4 uses in this pack.

Mitsura Kabuki Brush

I haven't heard about this brand before but I really like the brush. I use mineral powder foundation often, so it's nice having an extra one. It's quite soft and reminds me of the Nude By Nature brush (the one with the handle) as it's the same level of softness.

Soak Skin Booster Body Lotion (25ml)

This deluxe sample should give me 2-3 uses. Body lotion is always a nice inclusion, especially in winter.

Urban Skincare Co. Infuse Body Balm (35ml)

Sadly they included 2 body moisturisers in the box and that's one of the reasons why it was a let down. Personally I think that they should have included a facial moisturiser instead of another body lotion.

Meraki Body Body Scrub (unknown size)

This body scrub is in the fragrance "BlueVanillaBerry" and it's a lovely scent. It's a vegan body scrub that has sea salt, grapeseed and coconut oil. I'm really looking forward to using this.

Overall the box is good. But considering my previous boxes, it does lack some excitement. I have to admit I miss getting make up in the box as they usually have 2 make up items in a box.

I'm thinking of cancelling my subscription and signing up to The Parcel as it's a box that comes every 3 months. Then I might not get so overrun with products!! I'll see what the June box is like and then make up my mind.

What do you think of the box? Which boxes are you signed up to?

  1. The Hair & Me mask sounds so good. I haven't tried any of the subscription boxes yet.

  2. This box looks pretty good, the hair mask sounds interesting. I am only signed up to The Parcel which I find really good. I have found the boxes to contain a good mix of luxe & drugstore and full sized products are a regular thing.

    1. The hair mask is so great! I've noticed a difference and I've only used it 3 times. I'm really tempted to sign up to the Parcel. I've liked the boxes that I've read about.
